I’m sorry, has the world gone BONKERS?? 4 to 7 year olds up all night texting ?? where are the parents? and why on earth would a 4 year old need a mobile phone? last time I looked Playschool, Sesame St, Dora The Explorer and the like; did not have phone in lines or premium text competitions with 1900 numbers . . . AND a four year old should only need to know how to yell MUM to get her attention; not phone her, as she should be in earshot . . . . !!!!!

Queen’s Birthday Honour For Professor Chris O’Brien

Professor Chris O’Brien has been posthumously appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) just days after losing his battle with cancer. An amazing Australian who contributed so much and who will be sadly missed. The Prime Minister announced there will also be a state funeral for Chris.

Jon & Kate Plus 8, the family has lived in the spotlight for years; and now it seems reality has bitten . . Stories are all over the media with some saying they have already separated and others saying it is a publicity stunt for ratings grabs. I hope they can step aside from the cameras to sort this out. I like the show so I do not mean step away forever; I just feel they have given open access to the media all along, and the time has come for the media to give them space to sort things out.

Air France Disaster

An Air France Airbus A330 with 228 onboard went missing on a flight from Rio de Janeiro to Paris and French President Nicolas Sarkozy said there was little chance of finding any survivors. My heart goes out to all onboard and all faminly & friends touched by this tragedy.

Octo-mum to star in reality show ????? Ok, so all you need to do to be a fantastic parent worthy of television stardom in the US is have HEAPS of babies & rely on others for gifts and donations !!!! John and Kate plus 8 aside (as I think that is a great series that shows the logistics of dealing with a large family and is also entertaining and I feel they are great parents and a wonderful family AND they NEVER intended to have eight children!) . . . . the rest of them…… gggrrrr so you have a football team….. take a bow and get off the television and give us a break !!!!!

Ocean rower Roz Savage has set off for her second leg of her solo pacific ocean row, she completed the first leg on 1st September 08 after leaving San Francisco 100 days earlier…

This second leg will see Roz rowing from Hawaii to Tuvalu, a distance of 2620 statute miles, she is currently just over 4 days into her row and has already travelled 103 miles

Susan Boyle has won the popular vote on tonight’s Britain’s Got Talent singing Memory from Cats, I noted the PROFESSIONAL way Susan dealt with the beginning, she gained her voice and did a great job. Live television would be more daunting to 99.9% of those that have seen fit to nit pick in some forums; than it was to Susan. She was not putting on a concert for a paying audience, it is a competition, and one that she will most probably win!
