What a great day, saw CSIRAC as an unexpected extra and Titanic was amazing, the tour really took you to 1912 and gave a good feel of the story, to me the most amazing thing was the iceberg that was at the end, it was real ice and you were invited to touch it knowing it was NOT as cold as the water faced by the passengers and crew that night. The tour brought the story together, all the old movies and more recent ones I have seen about the Titanic, as well as reading I have done in the past just came together today. It just makes me feel so sad for all the people affected, an interesting point was the amount of crew that did not survive, and there are so many other passenger stories to learn and things to see.

I went to the Museum to see the Titanic Artefacts, and this was also on display….
Built in Australia, the fourth computer in the world, and it is the only intact first-generation computer surviving anywhere in the world.
WOW, hard to believe these specs, in 1947 the CSIRO invented this computer known as CSIRAC , it was the very first computer in the world to be programmed to play music (1955), now this next little gem on information is priceless, IT NEEDED STICKY TAPE, yes …. me the queen of all things stucky taped could have driven this baby 
, programmes were strips with a series of holes punched in them, so programmers needed a hole punch to place holes where needed and if one was placed in error or the programme needed tweaking, they covered the unwanted hole with STICKY TAPE
After 30.000 hours of service and working on 700 projects, that included weather forecasting calculations, forestry, financial loans, building designs, psychological research and electricity supply, it was switched off in 1964

It is very sad that one person lost their life, but what a miracle everyone else survived. An amazing effort from the pilot to limit the damage when the plane was struck by lightning.

Unilever, the company behind the washing product Omo, sold 50 “special” boxes of their product with a GPS inside in Brazil, and then knocked on the customer’s door.
It is a stunt being likened to the golden ticket in Willy Wonka, but in this instance, when a winning box is bought, the GPS activates and leads an Omo team to the purchaser’s house in order to give them a prize – a video camera and a day at a Unilever-sponsored event.
Does this use of technology raise privacy issues?

If you have not already heard of Isaiah Mustafa, not to worry, you soon will, he has become famous overnight as “The Old Spice Man” in an innovative ad campaign by Craig Allen and Eric Kallman of Wieden+Kennedy. The former NFL footballer is now set to star alongside Jennifer Aniston in a Hollywood film, a comedy Horrible Bosses, among other things.
Incredibly, this ad was filmed in one continuous shot (the only CGI used was for the shell/diamonds/old spice part), it took 3 days. They rigged the 3 sided bathroom set, one a boat set, on a beach. Then they used a mechanical arm to carry him onto the horse, watch carefully as he sits down, you will see he is being moved onto the horse. Clever Stuff !! Old Spice sales soar 107% as a result and Isaiah Mustafa is a star
He made Twitter and Youtube magic by replying to over 150 twitter questions via video from the bathroom set used in the ad. Highlights included celebrity questions and a marriage proposal and acceptance !
This shows how advertising companies can take full advantage of the new world of Social Media.

Gordon Ramsay GO HOME !!!!! Ok, so our resident IDIOT of the week now attacks Susan Boyle on the same stage he attacked Tracey Grimshaw. I thought he was a CHEF why on earth is he trying to be a comic ? I was shocked to watch the youtube video where he jokes about a documentary in relation to her private life (very distasteful) and I am sure he meant to say Reality Show but he could not even get that right. And if you Mr Ramsay were the subject of your so called reality show and not Susan; 5 million would not be enough to tempt me I can tell you. In the clip he complains of losing his voice WELL here is a solution for you Gordon SHUT UP! (by the way; any health care professional would tell you that is a legitimate cure for laryngitis so don’t take it personally)

Well, This should be called Weeks In Rewind this time, I have enjoyed building my site from scratch and no experience . . . . I thank Google and all the wonderful people who ask and answer questions online relating to HTML code for all the assistance they provided
I have covered many topics since starting my blog, I guess the one event that has dominated my thoughts is the passing of Chris O’Brien last week. I have followed the story since his illness was announced on RPA and the work he has done and the brave way he faced his illness is amazing. I was shocked by the Gordon Ramsay rant and feel that he is just not a nice person. GOOD FOR YOU Tracey Grimshaw; not wanting an apology from him, it is not needed. Someone of your character does not need an apology from someone like Gordon Ramsay to make them feel better

I’m sorry, has the world gone BONKERS?? 4 to 7 year olds up all night texting ?? where are the parents? and why on earth would a 4 year old need a mobile phone? last time I looked Playschool, Sesame St, Dora The Explorer and the like; did not have phone in lines or premium text competitions with 1900 numbers . . . AND a four year old should only need to know how to yell MUM to get her attention; not phone her, as she should be in earshot . . . . !!!!!

Professor Chris O’Brien has been posthumously appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) just days after losing his battle with cancer. An amazing Australian who contributed so much and who will be sadly missed. The Prime Minister announced there will also be a state funeral for Chris.

Jon & Kate Plus 8, the family has lived in the spotlight for years; and now it seems reality has bitten . . Stories are all over the media with some saying they have already separated and others saying it is a publicity stunt for ratings grabs. I hope they can step aside from the cameras to sort this out. I like the show so I do not mean step away forever; I just feel they have given open access to the media all along, and the time has come for the media to give them space to sort things out.
